Memory Care Neighborhood
Memory Care Neighborhoods offer more than just assisted living. They are specially designed living spaces and environments for those living with cognitive challenges brought on by Alzheimer’s and dementia. These neighborhoods include carefully designed activities to help reduce problematic patterns for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia and are completely secure to keep them safe.
Every aspect of the environment has been carefully thought through to help residents operate independently and have fulfilled lives. From interactive art displays to quiet rooms, to pleasant outdoor areas. Even the paint colors on the walls are specifically designed to help residents find their way around. The Memory Care environment helps cue its residents in their daily lives. Areas of the communities are designated for safe engagement in Montessori activities that provide purposeful and meaningful moments.
Rising Stars Program for Alzheimer’s Care and Dementia Care
Stellar Living communities provide solutions for those in need of limited care. Our stellar communities are customized to help with every resident’s individual needs and focus on:
The Rising Stars program is a structured, closely supervised program within our Stellar communities. It is environmentally and programmatically designed for those with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Professional medication administration, behavioral monitoring, management and intervention for the residents, and support for family members are integral elements of all Rising Stars service plans. We offer two types of care for your loved one who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and related Dementia: Continual Care in Community and residence Short Stay Care when needed.
The Rising Stars program doesn’t stop there. We have added many aspects to our program beyond the basic medical needs to ensure that our residents aren’t just safe and healthy, but also happy and fulfilled. Each of our Rising Stars neighborhoods has a friendly community dog who provides companionship. We use musical therapy to stimulate memories and emotions. Our caretakers get to know each of our residents personally with the help of individual biographies, helping them to instantly connect with each new resident and know their likes and dislikes. We have a far wider range of activities than normal programs, and we base our activities on the Montessori method, which encourages residents to experience and do more. Every one of our caretakers is specially trained in techniques to care for residents with dementia in a loving manner, even when they are exhibiting erratic behavior. We seek to reduce the amount of medication our residents use by working with our residents’ doctors and giving our caretakers other methods of dealing with erratic behavior besides medication. Take a tour to see our program in action, and you will see that our residents have a lot to live for.
